SIMMONS HEALTH & WELLNESS TRAINING BIO
Getting in shape shouldn’t be a punishment. It’s an amazing and empowering lifestyle decision that anyone can make. I believe in finding the pleasurable side of fitness; and while there may be a sore muscle or two along the way, the benefits of fitness are worth the challenge. I have developed my training regime by working with a variety of people, and constantly adapting my program to the needs of my new clients.

What People Are Saying
I started working with Chris Simmons as my personal trainer in November 2023. Just a little about me, I am in my early 50s, morbidly obese (doctor's words), with osteoarthritis and newly developed heart condition. My motivation to start working out was to be able to walk again and see improvement in my health. Initially when we started, I was unable to really do 5 minutes on an elliptical or bike. I struggled to do all the exercises. In all honesty, I only worked out one day a week and it was a struggle doing that. Then I progressed to 10 minutes on the elliptical and slowly increasing weights. Moved to working out twice a week. Since then, I have seen improvements in my ability to walk and stamina. This past weekend I rented a truck to move. I was able, with small difficulty, to repeatedly get in and out of the truck without assistance. If that would have happened before working out with Chris, I know I would not have been able to get in the truck at all. I highly recommend his services!

I worked with Chris when I was preparing for my first marathon. Chris is very professional and insightful. We met very early in the
morning to train and Chris was always prepared and ready for each season. We trained for 3 months and upper body workouts, which use to intimidate me became some of my favorite workouts. I will recommend Chris to anyone who’s looking to make a change in their wellness through physical fitness.

“I’m a “mature” woman rapidly approaching 80 with multiple physical issues (torn rotator cuff, osteoarthritis in my left knee, and Afib), as well as being very much overweight. I was at the point that I had to do something to get myself in shape, lose some weight, and change my eating habits, as I was out of breath just walking to the mailbox and back. I worked with Chris for about a year, and he has given me a new perspective on wellness. He always had a smile on his face and was always very punctual for our appointments. We also had a Georgia Tech connection, so it was fun talking about GT sports with him. When we began, I had some difficulty doing some of the exercises, but as time went on, I made more and more progress, and I started feeling so much better. He tailored the exercises to my physical difficulties and strengths. Although I was doing some exercise beforehand, mainly water aerobics, I have now been able to branch out and do more because of Chris’s help and motivation. Instead of never being on an elliptical or treadmill, I now have worked my way up from doing five minutes on each of them to 30 minutes on both of them. I have also been able to go back to my line dancing class that I had given up. My doctor was so happy that I was working with a personal trainer and is even more thrilled with my progress thus far. I thank you, Chris, for that extra push and motivation to get me to where I am now — losing 45 pounds and down two sizes in clothes. I continue to thank you as I work out on my own knowing that you have given me the tools that I need to be successful in this journey.”
